I love savoury snacks, but I don’t want to buy chips all the time, because of health reasons and also money. So I tried to make my own snacks at home!
- 1 can of chickpeas (or freshly cooked)
- 1 tbs olive oil
- herbs to taste (I used herbal salt, sweet pepper and garlic)
Put the chickpeas into a colander, wash and drain. Then bring them onto a towel to dab dry. Remove the hulls (not totally necessary but I like it better that ways). Preheat oven to 180°C (360°F) top heat.
Put the chickpeas into a bowl and mix with the oil and herbs. Make sure that all peas are coated evenly. Then spread them on a baking sheet and bake for approx. 25 minutes. You can toss and shake inbetween to mix and blend.
The roasted chickpeas are best when eaten directly out of the oven, still warm. You can store them in an airtight container for a few days, but they will loose their crunchyness. Still, they are a quite yummie snack!
